Casa Loma Tickets: Prices, Tours and Whether It's Worth It
Casa Loma tickets are $45 plus HST for adults, open daily 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prices by age, transit, parking and escape rooms, checked October 2026.
Casa Loma tickets cost $45 plus HST for adults 18 to 64, and the castle is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission at 4:30 p.m. It sits at 1 Austin Terrace, up the hill from Davenport Road and Spadina Road.
Admission is self-guided. There is no timed guided tour to wait for, which means the whole visit runs on your clock. Here is what each ticket costs, how to get up the hill, and what the $45 actually buys you.
What Casa Loma tickets cost
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult 18 to 64 | $45 |
| Senior 65+ | $40 |
| Youth 14 to 17 | $40 |
| Child 4 to 13 | $30 |
| Under 3 | Free with a ticketed adult |
Prices are in Canadian dollars and HST is extra. Buy on casaloma.ca, which routes you to its own ticketing provider.
The Casa Loma admission price includes two things people miss. The first is the mobile audio guide app, free with your ticket, in English, French, Japanese, German, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean and ASL. It also has audio descriptive tours in English and French with enhanced visual descriptions. The second is the documentary, “Pellatt Newsreel: The Man Who Built Casa Loma”, a 22 minute film narrated by Colin Mochrie.
Bring headphones. The audio guide is the tour, and without it you are walking through rooms reading plaques.
Getting there without a car
The castle is on top of an escarpment, and that geography decides your route. Four official ways up:
- Dupont Station, Line 1. Two stops north of St. George. Walk north two blocks on Spadina Road, then either climb the Baldwin Steps, which are 110 steps, or take the hill on the west side of the castle.
- Spadina Station plus the 127 Davenport bus. Ride to Davenport and Spadina, or stay on one more stop to Davenport and Walmer and skip the steps entirely. This is the move with a stroller, a bad knee or a hot day.
- St. Clair West Station. Walk east to Spadina, turn south and keep going for about 15 minutes.
- St. Clair Station plus the streetcar. Take the 512 west to Spadina Road, about five minutes, then walk south for roughly 10 minutes.
If you are new to tapping in and transferring, the TTC beginner’s guide covers fares and Presto.
Driving is a flat $20 per vehicle. Two accessible spots sit in the West lot, and the East lot opens for general parking after 5 p.m. The official pages disagree on whether cash is accepted, so bring a card. Uber, Lyft and taxis can enter the East lot free for drop-off, which is the easiest arrival if you are not up for the climb. For rates closer to the core, see the downtown parking guide.
What to expect inside
Three floors of exhibit rooms, the two towers, the conservatory, and the tunnel that runs out to the stables and the carriage room. Budget two to three hours. The documentary alone is 22 minutes.
A few practical notes from the official site:
- The tower closes at 4:30 p.m. to set up for the evening escape room. Do the towers first if you arrive late.
- Strollers are not recommended. There are stairs throughout and the heritage elevator cannot take a stroller.
- No outside food or drink. Onsite you have BlueBlood Steakhouse, the Liberty Café on the lower level and the seasonal Terrace Grill.
- Accessibility. A limited number of wheelchairs are free. All exhibit rooms on the first, second and third floors are wheelchair accessible with some exceptions, and the heritage elevator is staff-operated. Service animals are welcome with documentation.
It is an indoor visit for all but the gardens, which makes it a solid cold or wet weather plan. More of those in our rainy day activities guide.
The escape rooms and the Halloween event
Casa Loma runs escape rooms in the castle after hours, ticketed separately from admission:
| Experience | General | Prime time |
|---|---|---|
| Escape From the Tower | $46.35 | $56.65 |
| King of the Bootleggers | $42.00 | $56.65 |
Both prices are plus HST and holiday rates differ. Escape From the Tower runs 60 minutes, Thursday to Sunday at 5:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. King of the Bootleggers runs Wednesday to Friday at 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Earlier slots open for private bookings.
Every October the grounds turn into Legends of Horror, a self-guided two kilometre walk through the gardens and tunnels. In 2026 it ran October 3 to 31, closed October 5, 6, 12 and 13, from $45 online. It uses a different gate at Walmer and Davenport, not the main castle door. Full prices and timing are in our Halloween in Toronto guide.
Daytime tickets and the Halloween event are separate purchases. One does not get you into the other.
The castle also has a reputation as one of the city’s haunted addresses, which we cover with the actual history in Toronto’s most haunted places. We film this part of the city, Baldwin Steps included, on our Toronto walks on YouTube.
Is Casa Loma worth $45?
Two ways to pay less.
Toronto CityPASS includes the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium, then lets you choose three from Casa Loma, the ROM, City Cruises, the Toronto Zoo and the AGO, with a nine day window from first use. If Casa Loma is one of four or five big-ticket stops on your list, it is cheaper inside the pass than at the gate. Our CityPASS breakdown shows where the maths turns over.
The other is timing. Nothing about the ticket gets cheaper later in the day, but arriving at 9:30 a.m. buys you seven and a half hours of access and a quiet first hour, which is worth more at a site where the rooms are small and the stairwells are narrow.
As for the castle itself: it is a 1910s industrialist’s fantasy house that ran out of money, and it reads that way. The scale of the great hall, the conservatory and the tunnel are the parts that land. Some upper rooms are thinner on furnishing than the photos suggest. Go for the architecture and the story and you will get your money’s worth. Go expecting a fully furnished period house and you will not.
Prices and hours were checked in October 2026. Casa Loma changes event dates and seasonal dining often, so confirm on the official site before you go.
Quick answers
How much are Casa Loma tickets?
General admission is $45 for adults 18 to 64, $40 for seniors 65 and up, $40 for youth 14 to 17 and $30 for children 4 to 13, all plus HST. Children under 3 get in free with a ticketed adult.
What are Casa Loma's hours?
Open daily 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for touring, with last guest admission at 4:30 p.m. The tower also closes at 4:30 p.m. to make room for the evening escape room, so climb it earlier in your visit.
How long do you need at Casa Loma?
Two to three hours covers the house at a normal pace. The included documentary runs 22 minutes on its own, and there are three floors plus the towers and tunnels to work through.
How do you get to Casa Loma by TTC?
Take Line 1 to Dupont Station, then walk north two blocks on Spadina Road. From there you either climb the 110 Baldwin Steps or take the hill on the west side of the castle. To skip the steps, ride the 127 Davenport bus from Spadina Station to Davenport and Walmer instead.
Is there afternoon tea at Casa Loma?
Casa Loma's own site lists BlueBlood Steakhouse, the lower level Liberty Café and the seasonal Terrace Grill, and it does not list a standing afternoon tea service. Tea shows up as a seasonal or private event some years, so check the official site for current dates rather than booking on the assumption.
Is Casa Loma worth it?
It is the only full castle you can tour in Toronto and it draws over 650,000 visitors a year, so the answer depends on what you want from $45. If you like architecture, the 1910s or the tunnels under the stables, yes. If you want many rooms furnished to one period, it is uneven in places.
