Ripley's Aquarium Toronto: Tickets, Timing and How Long You Need
Ripley's Aquarium Toronto tickets are $44 for adults plus HST, and $5 less after 5 p.m. Hours, show times and crowds, checked October 2026.
Ripley’s Aquarium Toronto tickets cost $44 plus HST for adults 14 and up, and the exact same ticket is $5 cheaper if your entry time is 5 p.m. or later. The aquarium is at 288 Bremner Boulevard, right beside the CN Tower, and the doors open at 9 a.m.
Most visitors plan this one backwards. They book a late-morning slot, which is the busiest window of the day, then leave before the afternoon feeds. Here is what each ticket costs, what the daily schedule forces you to plan around, and when to actually walk in.
What Ripley’s Aquarium Toronto tickets cost
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult 14+ | $44 |
| Youth 6 to 13 | $29 |
| Senior 65+ | $29 |
| Child 3 to 5 | $12.50 |
| Child 2 and under | Free |
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude HST.
There are two formats at the same price, and the difference matters more than the number:
- Timed tickets. You pick the date and the arrival time when you book. This is the default, and it is what you want if your day is already planned around a dinner reservation or a train.
- Flex tickets. Good for one use within a year of purchase, and you turn up without a reservation. Worth the flexibility if you are holding it back for the first bad-weather afternoon of your trip.
Save $5 After 5 knocks $5 off when your visit starts at 5 p.m. or later. Ripley’s is clear that you get the same experience as the daytime visit, with the same galleries open. For a family of four with two adults and two youth, that is $20 back for arriving at dinner time instead of lunch time.
If you expect to come back, run the annual pass math. Passes are $100 for adults, $75 for youth 6 to 13, $75 for seniors and $30 for children 3 to 5, all plus HST. An adult pass clears its own cost on the third visit. It also throws in 30% off flex tickets for up to four guests on the day you visit, 20% off the cafe and the gift shop, free entry to select events including the monthly Friday jazz night, and a line you get to skip.
How long you need at the aquarium
There are nine galleries, and Ripley’s does not publish a recommended visit length. So work it out from the show schedule instead, because that is the thing that actually sets your clock.
| Daily event | Time | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Dive show | 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. | Ray Bay |
| Rainbow Reef talk and feed | 1:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. | Rainbow Reef |
| Rotating aquarist talk | 11:15 a.m. or 1:15 p.m. | Varies by day |
Everything in that table is included with admission, and times change without notice, so confirm on the day.
Catch the 11:15 a.m. dive show and the 1:15 p.m. reef feed and you are committed from about 11:15 to 1:30, which puts a full visit at roughly two to two and a half hours with the galleries in between. Walk the loop without stopping for a show and you will be out considerably faster. The rotating talks are the ones worth timing for: the octopus and sea pens talks run at 11:15 a.m. in Canadian Waters, and the shark Q and A, piranha, axolotl and electric eel talks run at 1:15 p.m. in the Dangerous Lagoon overlook, The Gallery and the Shoreline Gallery.
The galleries themselves are the Dangerous Lagoon, with a moving glidepath through North America’s longest underwater viewing tunnel; Planet Jellies, where Pacific sea nettles get lit from inside a kreisel tank; Rainbow Reef, built around Indo-Pacific corals; and Canadian Waters, which runs coast to coast through more than 80 species including sturgeon and a giant Pacific octopus. The Discovery Centre is the hands-on room, and it is where the under-eights stall longest.
The best time to go
Ripley’s publishes its own peak hours, which saves a lot of guessing. Avoid 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
That leaves two good windows. Walk in at 9 a.m. and you get the Dangerous Lagoon tunnel close to empty, but you miss the 11:15 dive show unless you stay. Or book after 5 p.m., save the $5, and trade the dive shows for a quiet room.
The aquarium runs 365 days a year, which makes it the dependable Monday option when the ROM, the AGO and the Ontario Science Centre are all closed. Our Toronto rainy day activities guide lines it up against the other indoor picks downtown.
Closing time is the catch. The aquarium normally runs to 8 p.m., but it closes early for private events and movie nights. From the official schedule: 6 p.m. on 30 October, 5 p.m. on 25 November, 8 p.m. on 26 November, 5 p.m. on 3 December, 6 p.m. on 8 December and 4 p.m. on 14 December. Every one of those days still opens at 9 a.m. Check the early closure page the morning you go.
Getting there and parking
Union Station is the stop, on Line 1 or any GO train, and the enclosed SkyWalk gets you to Bremner Boulevard in about 10 minutes without going outside. If you are new to tapping in, the TTC beginner’s guide covers fares and transfers. Coming in from the airport, the Pearson to downtown guide ends at the same station.
There is no aquarium visitor lot. The nearest Green P carpark is at 305 Bremner Boulevard, with more around Rogers Centre and Union Station. Rates in that pocket move with the event calendar, and a Blue Jays game or a concert will empty every lot and push prices up, so check the Green P map before you commit. The downtown Toronto parking guide has the full rundown of that area.
Ways to pay less
- Save $5 After 5. The simplest one. Book an entry time of 5 p.m. or later.
- Sea the Sky. General admission to both the CN Tower and the aquarium, $79 for adults and $54.25 for seniors, youth and children. You get 30 days to use it and you do not have to do both on the same day.
- Toronto CityPASS. The aquarium is included in every pass alongside the CN Tower. Our CityPASS breakdown shows the point where it beats paying at the gate.
- Library passes. Toronto Public Library cardholders can reserve a free pass through tpl:map. Passes drop at 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month and go fast. Locals only, since it needs a card.
- Annual pass. Pays for itself on the third adult visit.
If you are stacking the aquarium with the tower next door, the cheapest way up the CN Tower and the CN Tower premium tickets guide cover which tower ticket to pair it with.
Rules worth knowing before you walk in
- Strollers. Wagons, stroller-wagons and large running strollers have not been allowed inside since May 2023. Bring an umbrella stroller. Coat check has limited space for empty, folded ones, first come first served.
- Cameras. Hand-held cameras are fine for personal use. No flash, which protects the animals and your photos both. Commercial filming needs permission.
- Coat check. Members get one complimentary item.
Evening events and add-ons
The Stingray Experience puts you in Ray Bay with cownose, southern, spotted eagle and roughtail rays. It is $125 plus HST, runs Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, takes a maximum of four guests, and the minimum age is 6, with anyone 13 and under needing a participating adult alongside them.
Friday Night Jazz runs the second Friday of the month, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., with live music among the tanks. Tickets are $41 for adults, $25 for youth 6 to 13 and seniors, and $8.50 for children 3 to 5, plus HST, and aquarium admission is included. Annual members get in free. Cocktails are card only.
Dive-In Theatre is the 19-plus movie night, $90 plus HST, 8 p.m. to midnight, minimum two tickets. The ticket bundles a behind-the-scenes tour, a Rainbow Reef photo op and a return aquarium ticket. Both 2026 fall dates sold out, so watch for the next release rather than counting on a walk-up.
We film the Bremner Boulevard walk between Union, the tower and the aquarium on our Toronto walks on YouTube.
Prices, hours and schedules were checked in October 2026. Ripley’s changes them, so confirm on the official site before you book.
Quick answers
How much are Ripley's Aquarium Toronto tickets?
Timed tickets are $44 for adults 14 and up, $29 for youth 6 to 13, $29 for seniors 65 and up and $12.50 for children 3 to 5, all plus HST. Children 2 and under get in free.
How long do you need at Ripley's Aquarium?
The aquarium does not publish a recommended visit length. If you want to catch both the Ray Bay dive show and the Rainbow Reef feed, the schedule holds you from about 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., so budget two to two and a half hours. Walking the nine galleries once without stopping for shows takes much less.
What time is Ripley's Aquarium least busy?
Ripley's lists its peak hours as 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The aquarium opens at 9 a.m., so a first-thing entry or an evening slot after 5 p.m. puts you outside the crush.
Is there parking at Ripley's Aquarium Toronto?
The aquarium has no visitor lot of its own. There is a Green P carpark at 305 Bremner Boulevard across the street and several more in the Rogers Centre and Union Station blocks. On event nights those fill and rates climb, so transit is usually the better call.
Can you bring a stroller into Ripley's Aquarium?
A small umbrella stroller is fine. Since May 2023 the aquarium has not allowed wagons, stroller-wagons or large running strollers inside. Coat check has limited room for empty, folded strollers on a first-come basis.
Is Ripley's Aquarium open every day?
Yes, including statutory holidays and Mondays when most Toronto museums are shut. It opens at 9 a.m. and usually runs to 8 p.m., but private events and movie nights close it early on set dates, so check the early closure schedule first.
